4 cups sliced cabbage
1-2 tbsp butter
1/4 cup onion, finely sliced (optional)
1/2 cup grated cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
- Slice cabbage about 1/4 inch wide then chop a bit
- Melt butter and saute the onions
- Put in the cabbage
- Add salt and pepper and stir over low heat until the cabbage is softened and hot but not really cooked (spines should remain almost crisp
- Sprinkle the grated cheese over it
- Let it soften slightly then stir it to coat the cabbage
