Baked Beans

4 cups (800g pkg) white pea beans
5 strips bacon chopped
1 onion chopped
1/2 tsp each salt and pepper
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 cup chili sauce
1 can condensed tomato soup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup fancy molasses
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  1. Soak beans in 12 cups cold water over night, drain
  2. Large slow cooker stir together beans, 5 cups cold water, bacon, onion, salt and pepper, and ginger
  3. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours
  4. Stir in chili sauce, condensed soup, ginger, and molasses
  5. In small bowl whisk flour with 1/4 cup water
  6. Gradually stir into bean mixture
  7. Cover and cook 15 minutes or until slightly thickened
