The Old Mill Chicken Sauce

2 1/2 tbsp melted butter
1 sliced onion
3 tbsp flour
2 cups hot water with chicken bouillion cube dissolved
salt and pepper to taste
3 oz dry red wine

  1. Melt butter
  2. Add onion and brown
  3. Remove onion and stir in flour, blending well
  4. When brown, add 2 cups of hot water with the dissolved cube
  5. Season to taste with salt and pepper
  6. Cook until it boils and is smooth
  7. Add the red wine
  8. Continue cooking for 15 minutes more
